What you'll do
You’ll have ownership of features or entire applications and will take them all the way from concept to production. Use your depth of experience in Java to help us write great software. Show your insistence for quality by writing succinct tests. Beyond that, you’ll get the chance to define your role in the company and help lead us above and beyond to great things.
What we need
You should definitely be familiar with the usual suspects of the Java realm: Hibernate, Spring, JDBC and SQL, Servlets and JUnit. Knowledge of Javascript (especially frameworks like Prototype, jQuery), HTML, and CSS are also important. Experience with an IDE (e.g. IntelliJ) is expected. Some sysadmin-fu of the Linux variety is necessary to get around as is more than a passing interest in the inner workings of MySQL.
Extra consideration will be given to Open Source contributors, Rubyists and those with a strong appreciation for good design and user experience. If you have a portfolio, we’d love to see it. We’re looking for someone who can recognize opportunities for improvement, gather feedback (from customers and coworkers), devise a solution, articulate a plan of action, and lead the development efforts from start to finish. The ideal candidate is a good teacher, willing to share their thoughts and explain their choices as they help drive the team build great things while maintaining a strong, healthy code base.
Experience in the online advertising industry, or better yet, in the online lead generation industry is a big plus.
